Anadolu Medical Center named among Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2026

Anadolu Medical Center has been named one of the World’s Best Hospitals 2026 by Newsweek and Statista, ranking within the global Top 250 and as the third-best hospital in Turkey. It is the first year Turkey has been included in this ranking, which was expanded to give readers a more complete picture of leading hospitals worldwide.

For a single 201-bed hospital, sharing that list with much larger institutions is a milestone — and, for our international patients, an independent signal of the quality, safety and international standards that guide everything we do.

Why the recognition matters

The ranking reflects a two-decade commitment: a strategic affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine, accreditation against demanding international standards, and centers of excellence built around oncology, hematology, bone marrow and stem cell transplantation, robotic surgery and advanced radiotherapy.

International patients arrive with higher expectations — of expertise, of technology, and of speed. Meeting them has pushed us to shorten wait times, simplify admission and discharge, and bring different treatments together under one roof, so that a complex case can be diagnosed and treated without losing time.

Turkey’s rise in medical travel

Turkey has become one of the world’s leading destinations for medical travel, with international visitor numbers rising sharply in recent years. The country now holds one of the highest numbers of Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditations anywhere — a discipline that steadily raises clinical protocols and patient-safety standards across the sector.

At Anadolu Medical Center, international patients come from more than 65 countries. Bulgaria remains the single largest source, alongside strong flows from Romania, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Russia — with fast-growing demand from Western Europe, the United Kingdom and North America. We care for roughly 10,000 international patients each year, most of them with complex oncological and hematological conditions.
